To the students who came today
Thank you for coming to Yubari.
You learned about the Yubari coal mine, the system of coal mine, present Yubari city on the slagheap.
The flower which bloomed on the top of the slagheap is called a lupine.
It is a flower of June in Hokkaido.
At the “former Hokutan Shimizusawa thermal power station”, this power station was used only for the Hokutan coal mine company (private), and you learned that this electricity was sent from Yubari to the 100km away.
I was surprised very much what I got many questions from you.
Particularly, I was glad because the students of the country which have coal mines were just interested in former coal mine facilities.
Please come to Yubari again.
I hope it will be enriched when your studying days in Japan.
